Nebraska Furniture Mart Warehouse- Omaha
        Nielsen-Baumert Engineering, Inc. recently completed the structural engineering design and detailing of a new warehouse structure for Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha, NE. This warehouse encloses approximately 700,000 square feet on the main level and 70,000 square feet of elevated mezzanine area. The structure clear-height in the main warehouse area is 38-feet.
        Roof framing for the facility consists of light gage metal decking on open-web steel joist and joist-girder framing. The mezzanine floors consist of concrete fill on metal centering supported by open-web steel joists and steel beams. Exterior walls are non-load bearing insulated precast concrete sandwich panels. The panels are approximately 50-feet in length, 8-12 feet wide and are prestressed. Floors for the main warehouse area are designed for high-reach, narrow-aisle rack storage using very flat placement and finishing techniques
Mutual of Omaha Warehouse
        This warehouse encloses over 80,000 square feet on the main level and includes a partial 20,000 square foot, two-story office area.  Roof framing consists of precast prestressed concrete components, including double tees, inverted tee beams and columns. The second floor framing utilizes concrete fill on light gage metal deck spanning between open web steel joists and steel beams. Exterior walls are precast prestressed concrete insulated sandwich panels. Main level floors are concrete slabs-on-grade and foundations are conventional shallow spread and continuous footings.  The structural design for this facility was performed on a fast-track basis using team/partnering relationships.
