Midtown Crossing in Omaha
This $325 million, 1,000,000 square foot mixed-used development transformed and revitalized Omaha’s midtown area. This development replaced a collection of aging and underutilized building and parking areas with a showpiece ‘destination’ development of retail, entertainment and living space. Six of the seven buildings are constructed mostly with cast-in-place concrete. The levels above grade are post-tensioned flat plates while the levels below grade use pan/joist concrete framing. Some of the structures on site used steel framing to better accommodate the construction schedule and facility use. Under the three buildings that surround Turner Park is a continuous 2-level, below grade parking garage.
Consisting of 7 buildings, this project includes over 200,000 SF of retail, dining and entertainment space, 500 condominiums and apartments, parking for 3,000 vehicles and the Element Hotel. The project has received several LEED and architectural awards.
